Frequently asked questions

What is Dr. Note?

Dr. Note is an AI dental chart note assistant. You set up templates and rules — the AI writes professional clinical notes from a brief description you type or speak. It handles SOAP, DAP, PAR, SOAPIE, and custom formats.

How does it learn my charting style?

You build templates through a short AI conversation: what sections to include, what terminology you use, your default anesthetic, how you phrase things in specific situations. Those become your reusable templates with rules the AI follows every time.

Can I upload my existing templates?

Yes. Upload .docx, .txt, or .md files — Dr. Note preserves the format, spacing, and paragraph structure exactly, and fills in the clinical details using AI.

Is patient data safe and PHIPA/PIPEDA compliant?

Dr. Note does not store patient data. Notes are generated on-demand through encrypted channels. Your templates and rules are saved to your account, but clinical details exist only in your browser session until you copy them out.

How much does it cost?

Start with 30 free notes — no credit card required. After that, unlimited notes are $49/month (CAD). Cancel anytime, no contracts.

Does it work with voice?

Yes. Click the microphone button and speak your brief description. Dr. Note uses your browser's speech recognition to convert your voice to text, then generates the note. Works best in Chrome, Edge, and Safari.

I work at two different clinics. Does it handle that?

Yes. Set up each clinic with its working days. When you write a note, Dr. Note suggests the right clinic for that date and warns you if the date and clinic don't match — so you never accidentally chart for the wrong location.

Can I set rules that apply to every note?

Yes — Global Rules apply to all templates automatically. For example: "Use FDI tooth numbering", "Always note patient tolerance at the end", "Default anesthetic: 2% lidocaine 1:100,000 epi unless stated otherwise." You can edit, delete, or organize them into groups.

What if the AI writes something wrong?

The AI marks anything unclear as [VERIFY] instead of guessing. You can edit any note inline before copying it, and you always review before charting. The AI never invents clinical details you didn't provide.
